Held annually since 1954, the Boston Beanpot is the most important college hockey tournament outside of the Frozen Four, except perhaps for New England NCAA fans, who may not think the legitimate college championship is worth a hill of beans compared to the rivalry-thick crucible held at the Garden. Traditionally Boston University and Boston College have fared far better than Harvard or Northeastern, with BU winning 10 of 12 Beanpot tournaments between 1995 and 2006.
